Team W.S.P.R in association with Sir Trevor Garland presented the very first mini-investigation of 'The Oaks' - Historic Homestead, on Saturday 30.10.2011.
After months of planning and having the tickets sell out weeks in advance, it was finally time to greet our Official W.S.P.R Members to a homestead that is very close to our hearts - The Oaks.
After a Welcome introduction and briefing by Craig P, which included topics such as, paranormal investigation and its history, theories, equipment and its use, along with history of the amazing site also, it was time for our guests to be split into two investigative teams.
One team was led by Beth, Case Manager for W.S.P.R, who has been researching the paranormal for years and has investigated with such people as Kieran O'Keefe, Phil Wyman, Ian Shillito and David Wells, to name a few. The second team was led by W.S.P.R Founding Member and Lead Investigator Nicky Myers. Each team was joined by W.S.P.R Investigators who documented the vigils as the night went along.
The vigils took place both inside the house and out in the property accordingly. Claims of paranormal activity have resonated from both locations, so it was great that we were able to cover both areas simultaneously. The vigils themselves were interesting, with both teams having experiences throughout the night. On two occassions both teams reported items appearing from seemingly nowhere! A coconut husk was thrown, strange noises were heard and a child's toy magically appeared.
The night ended with some nibblies, tea and coffee, along with a de-brief where our guests shared their experiences, and we also shared with them the claims of paranormal activity which have occured. It was interesting to see some of the reports from our team and guests, similar to the claims reported over the years.
We look forward to planning the next mini-investigation and urge every member to get in quick so you to get to experience this great property and the secrets it holds.
